When you set up a website, landing page or squeeze page, you have a certain goal in mind for it a specific action that you wish for your visitors to take. The most obvious action is to make a purchase. There are others too though. You may want them only to sign up to your mailing list. You may want them to click through to another webpage designed to close the sale. Regardless of the action that you desire, you need to know what’s going on with your visitors. Are they in fact performing the desired actions?

Designing a website, populating it with fresh, relevant content and driving traffic to it is a quite an undertaking. If you manage to get a million visitors to your site, but not one of them performs the desired action, then it is all in vain. You need to track your conversion statistics.

Here are some helpful tips for increasing your conversion rates:

- Firstly, clearly define what your desired action for your visitors is. Do you want them to purchase, sign-up or redirect?

- The majority of web hosts today offer tracking software for your site. Pay attention to the statistics provided. Review them daily. If your host doesnt offer this service, get a different host immediately.

- Most likely, you are not receiving a 100% conversion rate. You need to experiment with your site. Small changes can yield big differences in conversion rates. Try the following:

- Pay close attention to your page titles and sub-headings. These are what people read first. They have the great power to attract or repel instantaneously. Test small changes for a few weeks at a time. If conversion stats increase, great! If they decrease change them back or try other small changes.

- Add pictures and videos to your pages. Content is king, but visual stimulation is fun! Make your site pleasurable, not boring and dry.

- Keep it professional. Whatever is on a given page needs to represent integrity and well-composed professionalism. People will not surrender their cash to what they perceive as an amateur attempt to sell them. There are hundreds of millions of websites that they could be visiting instead of yours. Remember that.

By learning to pay close attention to your conversion rates and other visitor statistics, you gain control over the success of your online endeavors. Focus. Hone in. Target your visitors and force them to perform the action or actions that you desire. That is the name of the game! You do not simply want to drive traffic to your site. That costs you money and effort. You want to drive presold, targeted traffic to your site to perform specific predetermined actions. That creates money for you!

Ebay is the largest online marketplace in the world. It is estimated that one third of all internet traffic goes through eBay each month. The best part is, that traffic is made up of buyers trying to find something to spend their money on.

Ebooks are the perfect items to sell on eBay. They have none of the drawbacks of physical products. There is no up front inventory cost, there are no storage problems or storage costs, there is no shelf life to worry about, they won’t go out of style every spring and fall, you can sell as many as you want and will never run out and you never have to ship ebooks.

Sounds like an unbeatable combination, the perfect selling environment and the perfect item to sell. Everyone should be making a killing! If that’s the case, why do so many ebook sellers give up after only a short while of selling ebooks on eBay? What are they doing wrong?

Sellers who throw in the towel because they are not making a profit, have made the mistake of not thinking through a complete marketing plan. They have only put into place the very first part of a successful plan and then they stop. They have not thought their strategy through to the end goal.

If you use to ignore them before, then it is time for you to start focusing your attention on them. You can start your own chat or join an existing chat related to your product. You don’t have to promote your affiliate product at once, but find the chance to advertise and promote it as you go along. The same would be true for message boards, discussion boards and forums.

* Create a free ezine or newsletter.

Ezines and newsletters are periodical publications whose aim is to inform a group of people about a certain subject. In your ezines and newsletters, you don’t always have to promote your merchant’s product for this may greatly annoy your subscribers. Rather, find a way to insert your affiliate ads and links on some portions of the letter. Also, don’t forget to promote your ezine or newsletter on your website.

These are but a few guidelines on how you can increase your affiliate sales and continually grow your affiliate checks. Sure there can be a lot of other tips that out there, and if you think they would work, we won’t discourage you from following them. 2) As mentioned in the first tip, make your homepage very, very impressive. You need to have well written articles and descriptions of your site. Depending on what your site is all about, you need to capture your website visitor’s fancy. Make your site useful and very easy to use. Do not expect everyone to be tech savvy. Invest in having good programming in your site, make your graphics beautiful but don’t over do it.

Don’t waste your time making the homepage too overly large megabyte wise. Not all people have dedicated T1 connections, the faster your site gets loaded, the better. Go for a look that borders between simplicity and sophisticated knowledge.

3) Provide good service and products. A return customer is more likely to bring in more business. Even then and now, a satisfied customer will recommend a business always. Word of mouth and recommendations alone can rake in more business than an expensive ad. As your clientele roster grows so shall your list. With more members on the list, the more people will get to know about what you have new to offer.

4) Keep a clean and private list. Never lose the trust your customers have entrusted you. If you provide e-mails to others and they get spammed, many will probably unsubscribe to you. Remember, a good reputation will drive in more traffic and subscribers as well as strengthen the loyalty of your customers.

Ebooks and eBay are a great combination. Ebooks are a perfect product for eBay with no inventory, no carrying costs, no shipping and they never run out. EBay is the perfect venue for ebook sales. It is the largest online marketplace in the world. It is the site with the largest collection of buyers with credit cards in hand desperately looking for something to buy. What better environment could there be for selling ebooks?

The best part of the whole system is, if you do it right, you can boost your sales in twin fashion. Let me explain. Generally ebooks, with few exceptions, sell at the auction site for somewhere between a penny and ten dollars. More are closer to the penny price than to the ten dollar price. To be perfectly honest, it is hard to make a profit when selling items at very low prices. The fees from eBay will eat up your profits on the front end, and your fees from PayPal will get whatever profits are left over on the back end. That doesn’t leave you with much to show for your efforts, unless you properly utilize a sound ebook follow up strategy.

Successful ebook sellers do not make money on the small sales of ebooks through their auctions. They make money from follow up sales through their store where they have more profitable books listed. You try and entice your customer who just bought your 99 cent ebook to go back to your store and buy a ten dollar book. Now you have turned a 99 cent sale into a 10.99 sale.

There are a number of ways to drive that customer back to your store. First you always have links to your store in your listing. A buyer that is not interested in the item for auction, may look at your store for other items.

Another way is to induce your winner to go to your store by offering an incentive such as a two for one sale on any book he buys from your store in the next 24 hours. But getting them back to your store isn’t the only strategy. You can double the effectiveness of your ebook sale on eBay by sending them to your off eBay website where you still have more higher margin books.

The easiest way to do that is to create an off eBay download page where your winning bidder goes to get his item. From there, you can get their email address and market to them with an email campaign or you can offer them a one time offer of bundled ebooks or both.

Creating additional sales on top of the first small sale is how the successful ebook sellers make substantial profits. By targeting your customer to visit your store and your website you are creating a double advantage through one small sale.

Lets start with the failure rate. Who actually knows the exact number of failures. I sure dont, my downline is more like 90% success. So where do they get this number of 95% fail. The best I can come up with is the inclusion of MLM like AVON, Epicure, and all those other parties and No Friend Marketing things they got going out there including the $1 and $5 programs, you couldnt pay someones monthly drinking habit with those, make me laugh people belive they will make millions when they join. Anyways, when it comes to doing business online, you cannot fail. There are just too many customers. If youre involved with someone who will not tell how to advertise, then you may give up before you succeed, but you cannot actually fail. Failing means that you tried something and it didnt work. So what determines if it didnt work, if you put out free ads and then get traffic to your site, dont you think the free ads worked? Maybe its your website thats the problem, you see. Thats why you need to try at least 100 different way of advertising before you give up.

Giving up doesnt mean anything, I give up all the time, but then 2 minutes later I come back and start all over with something else. Just like golfing or quilting, it gets frustrating and you want to quit. But, I now have it down to a simple 30 minutes every morning and 30 minutes every evening. Now thats productive. So what am I doing different that you? I dont know what your doing, but maybe the same things I did when I first started. I could generate 300 hits a day to my website easy, took about 4 hours of work. But I still wasnt making money. So I tweaked the website over and over. Still nothing, does this sound like your situation? I know many marketers cant imagine 300 hits a day let alone making money. You see, it all boils down to leading the horse to water, and thats all I was doing. Now the website should get the person interested, if not, maybe 2 months from now they will see it again and sign up. That alone is one of the biggest keys to online marketing, never give up, because consistancy is key. Once people see it over and over again, eventually they will click, just to see, maybe not buy. You see curiosity killed the cat, and thats what you need to work on. Get people curious, then they will try to find the info, now the next part is a secret so I wont get into it too much.

If you start an online business, make sure you are starting one with “go big or go home” in mind. Because if you dont, and you play around like its a hobby, you will be buried by those who are willing to throw money into it without a second thought. Now these people might not have any more money than you, but they know, the average millionaire has declared bankruptcy 2 times. Get it, unless your credit card is maxed out and you have phoned everyone and tried everything you can imagine, from copying emails and ads to spending $3000 in one month of google adwords. Then you need to go do it. If you treat this like a hobby you will most likely give up before seeing a single sale. If you act like you are jumping off a cliff without a parachute and think you will invent one on the way down, then you just may have the mind set it takes to succeed online.

So ask the person you are looking to buy from many questions before you buy. If they help you and say this and that, you can bet they dont make any money. You always know the successful ones, because they seem to have a quiet confidence, something that cannot be taught. So the truth is that if someone is getting someone else to tag team you on the phone, they probably just started, even though they say ” I am projected to make $30,000 this month.” Everyone who makes money online will never talk about money or three way call you, unless you ask of course. So be weary of those who say ” Youre going to be rich, you just have to sell 4 people, and then they sell 4 people, you will have $1,000,000″ Think about this, 95% give up, which means you have to sell 100 people to have 4 others sell 4. So why dont you just try to sell 100 people and stop trying to get the residual incomes and the over-rides. They are a bonus, but to keep this to a reasonable length, just swing for the fences, and if you miss the ball, swing again and again until you do it. I dont want to hear FAIL unless you tried at least 100 things.
