Search Engine Optimization - A Novice’s Guide

Search Engine Optimization | Comments (0) tomdwyeriv @ 12:00 am

Even if you are a novice to the world of online marketing, you can still do a few simple Search Engine Optimization techniques on your site to help increase your search engine exposure. The golden rule to successful SEO is to make your site friendly to your human visitors in addition to the search spiders and robots on the web. If the visitors are not happy with your site, they will not return to it, even if you have top rankings on the search engines. It does not take a genius to make your site efficient.

Landing Page

Make sure that your landing page gives the answer the visitor was looking for. Generally there are two reasons for anyone to search on a search engine - to find information on a product/service or to find a product/service. Even though there are people who do not know how to use proper keywords for their search or frame their question correctly, it is also utterly frustrating to go through pages and pages of a website to seek the answers only to be lead to old or non-relevant information. Search Engine Optimization professionals see to it that a user does not have to click more than twice, after reaching the site, to get the desired information.

Loading Time

Loading time is important because statistics say that if your page takes more than thirty seconds to load, then there are good chances of the searchers moving onto a different site to seek the information, even before your page opens up. If your page is very graphic with videos and images and has unnecessary popping smiley faces, then it is bound to take a long time to open. This will not help yoru SEO efforts. Sites that use animation can hold the attention for some time, but it does not add any value to the information provided on the site. Not to mention potentially increasing the download time significantly.

Link Right

Keep a tab on your websites link-ability. Each link should send the visitors exactly where they want to go. Internal links should be in order and should have a smooth process of navigation; ultimately navigating a casual surfer in to a dedicated customer. Always check for dead and dangling links, both for internal as well as external links. If the links don’t work then your Search Engine Optimization could suffer.

Content

Another way to increase your natural listings and rankings is by keeping the content as interesting and fresh as possible. You can achieve that by posting original, crisp and interesting articles worth reading. They should be updated regularly and be rich in keywords that are placed strategically in the content.

Conclusion

These simple but effective things if kept in mind can bring forth a positive change in the traffic on your site. Search Engine Optimization involves a lot more things but the above points are just the basics, which anyone can master. Make your site human, robot and spider friendly and watch them return again and again for the latest information.

Sneaky Ways To Get & Use E-Mail Addresses For Viral Advertising

Viral Marketing | Comments (0) Mokj @ 12:00 am

Viral marketing has an array of possibilities and ways to achieve your overall goals. However, just like everything else, preplanning and the right setup to create success are the things you will need to make it work for you and your e-business.

The first thing you want to be sure you don’t do is get over-zealous. The one thing you need to avoid at all costs is spamming. Spamming is still used widely, but with the government establishing more restrictions and fines you don’t want this to be a problem for you. The professional image of your site will also suffer if you send mail blatantly.

Spamming requires a database that contains a huge list of e-mail addresses set up so that the message can be delivered with one click. The problem with it (aside from the governmental restrictions and associated fines) is that it irritates the recipients and kills the validity of your campaign, which in turn kills the factors that would motivate someone to refer your site.

You need to personalize by creating your website with personal appeal. You must see to it that your website makes your customers feel safe, secure and cared for. E-mail is important, because it is going to be one of the most affordable ways to keep in touch with your customers.

The proper way to handle email permission is to first let your customer know that you will not transmit their e-mail addresses to third party companies. The next thing to do is to attach the need for their e-mail addresses to benefits they can receive.

For example: Coupons or discounts that are only available to members who receive e-mail notifications. With each e-mail you send the viral marketing effect takes place.

A study by Sharpe Partners, an interactive marketing agency, revealed that 89% of adult Internet users in America share content with others via e-mail. This is excellent news for those companies who use self-propelling word-of-mouth e-mail techniques to sell their products.

The study generated some interesting results regarding the type of content that is most often forwarded, as well. The most popular content is humorous material.

The second most popular category is news, followed by healthcare and medical information, religious and spiritual material, games, business and personal finance information and sports/hobbies in that order. So it is easy to see that humor is the best content for your viral e-mail campaign.

Cartoons, jokes and funny video clips are among the things that can be added to an e-mail to insure that it will go viral. People will want to pass along something that makes them laugh.

They are a lot more likely to hit the forward button and send your email to their friends and relatives if it is an “advertainment” rather than an advertisement.

Not along ago, about 35 million people got an e-mail containing a picture taken in Disneyland. It took a minute to see it but there was Donald Duck lying prone in front of the famous Cinderella Castle. The title of the picture was “Bird Flu has hit Disneyland”. It was a viral e-mail advertising Disneyland and used the edgy strategy of making light of what’s serious and it works.

I’d guess that most people who own a computer have seen that picture and thus the advertisement for Disneyland. The bird flu epidemic is newsworthy and has the potential to attract an enormous amount of attention to any brand that might, for whatever reason, associate itself with it.

Remember that people are much more likely to share a joke or a funny picture than anything else so you would be well advised to include humor in your e-mail campaign.

So there you go! Those are the sneaky ways you can apply to your subscriber’s email addresses and thus, increase your viral marketing potential.

How SEO News Is Vital For The Industry

Search Engine Optimization | Comments (0) prettyone @ 12:00 am

The search engine optimisation (SEO) industry is a fast paced and frenetic business to be involved in. Developments in SEO are almost constant and hence news in the industry is a vital consideration for anyone who wishes to succeed. Subsequently a large number of news sites have come into operation to fulfil this need for constant SEO advice, guidance and development. With a wide base of readers these sites have a responsibility to report how the industry is going to change and what courses to follow when performing SEO.

With so much currently being spent on the internet it is unsurprising that so many companies have arisen to fulfil the requirement for online marketing and optimisation.

The industry as a whole is being embraced by the world of business wholeheartedly as companies finally realise the potential profits to be made. With savvy businesses so willing to employ SEO, the rise in news and advice sites is an understandable reaction.

Methods of SEO change rapidly and hence news is an essential element of the business. Because of this tumultuous ongoing change, news is vital to determine what is ethical. The term ‘black hat’ is often bandied about in the industry, it is used to describe methods that the search engines find distasteful and unscrupulous. These SEO methods however change from time to time and some ‘black hat’ methods have previously been considered ethical. This is why news helps those in the industry keep up with change and pursue only ethical methods.

SEO news sites do however contain all manner of information. Although some purely focus upon giving information to those within the industry, some give advice to novices. This advice varies in quality but generally attempts to explain the SEO process to clients who may wish to go it alone.

News sites do however usually contain some form of get out clause by stating that for efficient optimisation conducting the process yourself is rarely advisable. Those within the industry will always advise hiring professionals to carry out the task as the process is often laborious and requires certain expertise.

Knowing what SEO methods will work is usually left off news sites due to the fact it is ultimately part science, part art form. Because there are no clearly defined industry standards on how to perform optimisation, different companies will have different methods. Of course companies have varying success and for a successful SEO company their own position for terms such as ’search engine optimisation’ should be considered. Anything in the top five shows that the company is proficient in what they do.

Some of the news sites delve into the deep technical elements of the optimisation industry. Articles about code writing are commonplace and may as well be written in Latin for the lay reader. It is only experienced SEO specialists that will gain worth from these articles and even then some are left scratching their heads.

Staying one step ahead in the SEO industry is crucial. News sites have filled a niche in the market for one of the fastest growing industries worldwide. Due to the global nature of the internet, news articles can be written by all manner of nationalities and from differing perspectives. Of course the Americans are attempting to dominate the market but through plucky entrepreneurial spirit some in Britain and Europe are rapidly surpassing their counterparts from across the pond.

The industry is obviously dependent upon what the search engines will do next. Subsequently SEO news has a large element dedicated to algorithms and processes used by the major search engines. Understandably staying up to date with any changes to the ways in which search engines operate is a prerequisite for success. Without an extensive knowledge of current affairs, it is easy to fall by the wayside.

The Different Types Of Resale Rights

Internet Marketing | Comments (0) Mokj @ 12:00 am

There are many different kinds of resale rights in the internet marketing world. As you may already know, there are many different kinds of them that you can buy or sell. Here are the main types:

- Resale Rights

This gives you the right to resell a product to an end user. This can apply to both physical and digital products. Where a digital product is concerned, you resell the product and keep 100% of the profits without losing the enjoyment of the same product as digital products are duplicable in nature.

- Basic Resale Rights
You have the right to resell the product but your customer does not have the right to resell it to another. You keep 100% of the profit after every sale you make.

- Master Resale Rights
You have the right to resell the product as well as the Basic Resale rights itself to your customers. Your customers can in turn resell the same book to their customers. The Master Resale rights can either be bundled together with the purchase of the product or purchased separately from the product.

- Private label rights
This is the mother lode of all resale rights! Buying private label rights usually give you the right to change the product in any way you like, put your own name on it, sell resale rights or even master resale rights to others and basically use and treat the product as it were your own creation.

- Give Away Rights
You can give the product away for free. In most cases, however, you cannot resell and/or edit it.

- Royalty Rights

You have to pay the original product author or franchiser a percentage of every sale made by you. This right normally applies to physical products. McDonald’s and books found in bookstores are very good examples that demonstrate this right.

At times you can purchase a product and it will automatically come with either basic or master resale rights. Other times, you purchase the product and the other rights separately. In either case, once you have some type of rights to a product, you may then begin making sales and you get to keep 100% of the profits.

This is just like having a product of your own. The only difference is that you are not authorized to change anything about the product and the product creator’s name remains on the product.

I’ll bet that you even own rights to products already and you may not even realize it. You see, many products on the internet are sold with many rights already. So, make sure that you read the sales letters carefully!

Is This The Downfall Of Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate Programs | Comments (0) jn05300 @ 12:00 am

Do you think affiliate marketing is oversaturated? In fact, it’s really not. Thousands of people come up with new products and services every day, and those products and solutions need experts to sell them. You can behead expert, and you can use affiliate marketing to do so. However, you need to know a few basic things first before you can be a successful affiliate marketer.

Affiliate marketing is a good, cost-effective way to build a business, because even though it lowers your upfront costs, it generates significantly more income than you could get on your own because your affiliates are able to sell significantly more of your product or service than you could by yourself. In fact, hundreds of not thousands of new products come to market in a steady stream, and each of these provides an opportunity for income.

Another thing to think about is that when you sell a particular affiliate product or service, you must have the proper tools and knowledge to be successful. A big mistake many people make is to think that affiliate products can make them “get rich quick.” However, there’s no such thing. Yes, people do, you become a get rich, but they put in the time and effort upfront to get to where they are truly wealthy. It does not happen overnight and takes a lot of work and dedication. However, if you do work hard, you can be rewarded in the end.

Perhaps the most important things to remember in affiliate marketing are your subscriber list and your trust level in that list. First of all, one of the best ways to build your income quickly is to build yourself a subscriber list. This is much more effective, in general, than Google ads, or just about any other type of advertisement. With a subscriber list, you’re not spending money for advertisement, and yet word is getting around fast about your product or service.

Which brings us to the second point. You yourself must be trustworthy and expert to make your list a success. People will see very, very fast if you are simply trying to get their money and will go away. Not only that, but they’ll tell everyone else to stay away, too. No, you have to be trustworthy and have integrity, and you have to know what you’re doing. If you have honesty and integrity, and you know what you’re doing, though, you’ll build a loyal subscriber list that will not only use your product or service, but they’ll tell everyone else about your product or service, too. This is in fact one of the easiest ways to advertise your product, and you didn’t even have to do anything other than to act with integrity and work a little on your list, which is what any good entrepreneur would do anyway. Never think that there are instant results or that you don’t have to work for your money. This is a simple fairytale and not to be believed.

Next, once you build your successful product list, follow-up and make sure people are buying what you are selling. If there’s a demand for your product, then you need to market effectively to make it sell. You can do this outside of your subscriber list by buying AdWords, participating in article marketing, and the like. Keep in mind that if your product is great, it’s not going to sell if nobody hears about it. And if your products terrible, it’s not going to sell no matter how much you market it. Your product must both be of quality and the well known in order to be successful.

In the world outside of the Internet, many, many examples exist where entrepreneurs believe that market saturation has occurred. Yet, still other entrepreneurs see that this is not true and work to start a business within a niche that is not yet taken care of. To be successful, they not only do this, but they build a loyal customer base by acting with integrity. This, in turn, gets them repeat business from customers and word-of-mouth by satisfied customers. It’s the same with affiliate marketing. Act with integrity, promote a good product, and your business will succeed.
